Job Summary

As a Senior Estimator for Huntzberry Brothers, Inc., you will be responsible for the overall project estimate while providing leadership, training, and mentoring for your team. You will work with clients, architects/engineers, subcontractors/suppliers to plan cost factors for projects; analyze construction documents, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for projects. Responsibilities and Duties

  • Prepare accurate take-offs manually and through Agtek Software
  • Prepare detailed estimates through B2W Software and prepare proposals
  • Project and job cost setups (handoff from office to field)
  • Manage the estimating team in the assembly and submission of bids
  • Contract negotiations and redlining
  • Establish project schedule baselines
  • Study specifications to assist the operations team in planning procedures for construction on basis of starting and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of construction
  • Research construction documents and analyze specifications to determine estimated costs
  • Onboarding projects, file, and folder setups
  • Professional communication with owners, general contractors, and municipalities
  • Cooperate and communicate with others in a team environment
  • Attend training classes/courses as required
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of Heavy Civil Estimating experience required
  • Minimum 2 years of college education, preferable in a construction related field
  • Experience with B2W Estimating Software, Agtek Take-off Software, Microsoft 365 Suite, Microsoft Project (or be able to easily learn)
  • Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints and convey this information to others
  • Strong attention to detail and problem solving
  • Organized with the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to communicate and report effectively to Supervisor
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
